The program gives players an opportunity to enjoy the game of soccer in a fun and developmentally appropriate environment. Our practices are tailored specifically for young players and offer instruction on basic technique and game play. The Junior Academy is a perfect fit for boys and girls who have an interest in playing the game of soccer and want to learn new skills. We welcome all players, from beginners to those preparing to move to the developmental or select level! Practice in small groups is ideal for these ages. Our groups usually have a 1:8 coach to player ratio. Age Groups U5/U6: Players born in 2013 & 2012 U7/U8: Players born in 2011 & 2010 U9/U10: Players born in 2009 & 2008 Practice will begin on Wednesday, September 6 U5/U6 Structure Practice: Mondays from 5:30pm-6:30pm Game: Wednesdays from 5:30pm-6:30pm * Wednesday, September 6 will be a practice ** Monday, October 30 will be a game U7/U8 Structure Practice: Mondays from 6:30pm-7:30pm Game: Wednesdays from 6:30pm-7:30pm * Wednesday, September 6 will be a practice ** Monday, October 30 will be a game U9/U10 Structure Practice: Mondays from 6:30pm-7:30pm Game: Wednesdays from 6:30pm-7:30pm * Wednesday, September 6 will be a practice ** Monday, October 30 will be a game Each team will play 8 matches tentatively beginning the week of September 11 All matches are played at Heritage Park in Taylor, MI All players need shin guards, ball (size 3 or 4) and water bottle; cleats are optional. Cost Early Registration (through July 27, 2017) - $100 Standard Registration (through August 10, 2017) - $120 Late Registration (through September 1, 2017) - $140 * Fee includes all practices, 8 games, and your uniform (2 shirts, 1 short, 1 sock) Practice will begin on Wednesday, September 6 Heritage Park - Taylor, Michigan Developmental (Recreational) Fall 2017 (Players born 1999-2008) 9/5/2017 - 10/29/2017 Our developmental teams are unique to the Downriver area and allow players to bridge the gap from Junior Academy to Select and Premier teams! If you are not currently on a select or premier team and are looking to move up to the next level, this is the place for you! Developmental teams are open to all players that are not currently rostered on Junior Academy, Select, or Premier teams between the ages of 10-19 (see age group chart below). Structure - 1-2 practices per week - Generally 1 game per weekend, 8 game season - Tournaments are optional and decided on by the team *Developmental teams may have the option to play indoor during the winter but it is not mandatory.
